KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara Malaysia has successfully rolled out its Financial Sector Talent Enrichment Programme (FSTEP) following the selection of the first batch of 297 candidates out of 2,900 applicants.
In their inaugural engagement session, participants had the opportunity to discuss with Bank Negara governor the role of the central bank in macroeconomic management and current issues including developments in the international financial system, Bank Negara said in a statement yesterday.
It said FSTEP was 12-month programme developed to prepare participants for the financial services industry.
Participants would receive training and gain exposure in commercial, investment and Islamic banking as well as insurance and takaful through rigorous technical classroom and on-the-job training. They receive a scholarship of RM2,200 per month each as well as basic medical and insurance coverage.
Facilitators for the programme are professionals and practitioners who would share their experience and insight of the financial industry, it said.
Bank Negara said the initiative was aimed at providing a supply of high powered talent for the financial services industry. |
