A special Launching ceremony of True Banking was held in a Avari Hotel - Karachi on November18, 2008. Mr Nikolaus Rafiq the President and Chief Executive Officer of Dawood Islamic Bank Limited was the Chief Guest at the occasion. A group of senior bankers and scholars of Islamic Banking attended the ceremony. Representatives from electronic and print media were also present. Talking to the gathering Mr Nikolaus Rafiq appreciated the efforts and contribution by AlHuda and congratulated their editorial Team.

He emphasized the need for reliable and prompt source of information for Islamic Banking industry in Pakistan, and urged the audience to promote and subscribe to the magazine “TRUE BANKING”. Mr. Hamad Rasool, Director Research and Training AlHuda-CIBE and Executive Editor TRUE BANKING” presented the inaugural copy of the Magazine to Mr. Nikolaus Rafiq the President and Chief Executive Officer of Dawood Islamic Bank Limited. Mr. Hamad while talking at the event intended to take initiative to carry the magazine across the borders to the Gulf and Asia pacific region in the next phase soon after the success of “TRUE BANKING” in Pakistan. He also urged the scholars and Islamic Banking professionals to contribute their research papers to the Magazine and assured them to promote the quality contributions.
