Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said, he will urge the central bank to look at Islamic banking operations as practiced in Malaysia, the Press Trust of India reported.
"There have been from time to time demands for experimenting (with) Islamic banking. I would certainly recommend to the Reserve Bank of India, which is looking into the question, to look at what is happening in Malaysia in this regard," the report quoted Singh as saying. Singh spoke at a news conference during his ongoing visit to Malaysia.
