Dubai Islamic Bank hosts ‘Recruitment Week’ for UAE nationals

As part of its ongoing effort to contribute to the professional development of UAE nationals, Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) is hosting a “Recruitment Week” between November 18-22, 2007, for Emiratis seeking employment at the bank.

During the period, officials from DIB’s Human Resources department will receive UAE national job seekers, with a view to selecting qualified candidates for suitable employment at the bank.

Applications from prospective candidates will be screened by a special committee. Those who meet the bank’s requirements will be contacted shortly by DIB’s Human Resources department.

The recruitment week signals the start of a series of innovative programmes launched by the bank to target qualified UAE nationals and offer them exceptional opportunities to enter the banking sector through DIB.

Ahemd Al Sirkal, Senior Vice President, Head of DIB Group Human Resources Department, said: “This event is aimed at attracting a large number of nationals from various academic and professional backgrounds. This week is an opportunity for UAE nationals to enter the banking sector via the world’s first Islamic bank, DIB. All applications will be assessed by DIB, and qualified candidates will be contacted shortly by the bank’s HR department.”

He added: “Recruitment Week is focused on attracting the best national talent. This reflects DIB’s vision to enhance its role in the UAE community, especially as Emiratisation is one of the strategic objectives at DIB.”

He concluded: “We are committed to Emiratisation and are extremely proud to state that UAE nationals now account for roughly 45 per cent of all bank employees. Consider that figure and the great success of DIB: this is proof positive that companies here can invest in the country’s future while simultaneously growing their own bottom line. Together, we can build an even brighter future for the UAE.”
