Banks issue Rs12.9b loans in a month

 
ISLAMABAD: The banks, during the period of August 4 to Sep 1st, issued loans worth Rs 12.9 billion.

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) released data said the amount of loans issued by the banks during August 4 to September 1st, surged to Rs 2,307.94 billion from Rs 2,295 billion, which showed 0.60 per cent rise in the aggregate amount of banks' loans in a month, a private TV channel reported. On the other hand, the account holders' deposits to loans ratio in the same period falling by 65 basis points remained at 66.73 per cent.

SBP released figures said the new loans issued by the banks from August 26, 2006 to September 1st, as compared to the same period in the preceding year rose by 11.6 percent and amounted to Rs 240.43 billion, while the deposits to loans ratio falling by 672 basis points remained at 66.73 percent
