Capt. Jamil Akhtar delivered a research base presentation on “Developing the new Takaful Products: Balancing Innovation with Product Understanding” at the 3rd International Convention on Takaful and Retakaful, Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia, on 30 August 2007, which was highly cherishedby the participants. This was the premier event for Islamic insurance in Asia and in the world. This event jointly organised by Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) and Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM)
Mr. Jamil highlighted the major difficulties in the engineering of the new Takaful products and emphasizes on balancing innovation with product understanding. In his presentation he covered the following points too
- Will excessive innovation create market confusion?
- Delivering Islamic Value to market?
- Arguing common presumptions: Product Innovation or imitation?
He also expert panelist on the discussion of “ Imperative measures in Strengthening Corporate Governance in Takaful “ This discussion was moderatored by Dato’ Shahran Laili Abd.
