Bank Negara Malaysia governor Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz has assumed the role as the fourth chairperson of the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) Council for the Jan-Dec 2007 term.
In a statement on Jan 12, IFSB said Zeti took over from Sheikh Salem Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud Al-Sabah. State Bank of Pakistan Shamsad Akhtar is the deputy chairperson.
Kuala Lumpur is hosting the IFSB general assembly and council meetings in March, 2007.
