KARACHI: President National Bank of Pakistan Syed Ali Raza has said the NBP is the strongest bank of the region geared to serve all sectors of the economy with its unique franchise and largest customer base across the country.

Addressing the fifth batch of management trainee officers inducted by the bank on merit, he said the NBP with its robust balance sheet and global presence could play a significant role in international trade finance.

He said the NBP had attained No 1 position in corporate banking, consumer banking and agriculture finance.

He said the bank needed top quality human resource to meet the challenges of competition, service quality and product range with IT interface, for which the management trainee officers would have to play a vital role to maintain the bank’s position.

Earlier, Senior Executive Vice President Dr Mirza Abrar Baig said the NBP would hire 150 more management trainee officers of various categories in the near future to augment the bank’s human resource.
