SBP deputy governor appointed

 
KARACHI: Yaseen Anwar has been appointed as Deputy Governor, State Bank of Pakistan.

One seat of Deputy Governor was vacant since September 2006. His appointment will fill the vacant post.

Anwar acquired his early education from Ascension Academy in Washington and Karachi American School. He brings 33 years of international banking experience to his new assignment.

Anwar has been associated with Kraken Financial Group, London as its executive vice president since 2003.

Earlier Yaseen Anwar was director private banking, Riggs and Company, London from 2001-2003.

Anwar, with deep investor and corporate business relationship in US, Europe and the Middle East has a broad range of hands-on experience in managing rapidly growing business units of well known global financial institutions with detailed knowledge and oversight of the regulatory environment, operations, payments and credit related matters.

As a non-executive Director on the board of United National Bank Limited, UK over the past six years, he has developed strong expertise in the UK financial services regulatory framework on corporate governance as well as senior level ties with UK financial service authority.
