African Islamic Finance Awards

Date: December 01, 2026 | Venue: Holiday Inn Mauritius Mon Tresor by IHG

The African Islamic Finance Awards celebrate excellence, innovation, and leadership in Islamic finance across the African continent. Designed to recognize institutions, individuals, and initiatives that have made outstanding contributions to the growth and development of Shariah‑compliant finance, the awards highlight achievements in Islamic banking, Takaful, Sukuk, capital markets, microfinance, fintech, and financial inclusion.

Recipients are selected based on demonstrable impact, pioneering solutions, ethical governance, and commitment to advancing Islamic financial practices that support sustainable economic development. By honoring best‑in‑class performance and visionary leadership, the awards aim to encourage collaboration between African and global Islamic finance stakeholders, inspire emerging talent, and raise the profile of Islamic finance as a key driver of inclusive growth throughout Africa.

Selection Criteria

At the heart of the selection methodology is the comprehensive research undertaken by AlHuda CIBE. There are two ways nominations are determined:
1. Self-Nominations: Industry players who would like to be considered for an African Islamic Finance Award in a particular category can submit direct nominations.
2. Research Recommendations: The AlHuda CIBE research team recommends to the Nomination Committee the names of institutions and individuals supported by empirical market research.
